It Won't Always Be Like This
Hey Sis,
How is your day, week, month, and year going?
If you are having a rough season, please know it won't always be like
it is. You are going through a process of preparation. Allow this preparation period to stretch and
grow you.
The stretching may not feel good, but it prepares you for your next.
God is extending you and building your character, so lean into your faith and
trust Him.
He will show you favor if you let Him.
Sometimes, we must move out of our way and allow God to step in and do
what we are trying hard to do.
Get in the passenger seat and let God do the driving for you.
The stretching, building, molding, and trusting can be challenging,
but remember, our time is not God's time. The way He operates is not the way we
do.
When we believe we hear from God, we want to act on what we hear immediately.
But God is not a microwave.
Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks to munch on during the day or at night. I prefer using the kernels and popping them myself on the stove (the old-fashioned way). To me, this process takes a little longer than the microwavable method, but it's tastier.
God's way of doing things may take a little longer than you would
prefer, but His way is much tastier than ours. Things that process quickly have
many additives and preservatives because they have to maintain the item's
safety and shelf life.
God is your Additive and Preservative!
There is safety in Him and Him alone!
Stovetop or air-popped popcorn is much better than packaged
microwavable popcorn because you can control what goes in it. The process takes
a little longer, but the outcome is healthier.
God's way is not like ours; it's better! It may take longer, so allow
your wait time to be a time of getting to know your Savior a little better. As
you wait, grow your faith by reading His Word. Stay in His presence through worship,
prayer, and meditation.
God's Word promises that He is perfecting all the things concerning
you. Psalm 138:8 NKJV
Word for Thought: You can find peace in your process if you just be
still and wait on the Lord.
Challenge: When anxiety rises within you, find a quiet spot, close
your eyes, and be still for just a moment. Then, ask God to remove the knot twisting
inside you and believe He will.
But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will
never perish. Psalms 9:18 NIV
Father God, thank You for always remembering us. Thank You for never
leaving us. Thank You for being the salt that preserves us in our life. Please
help us to maintain when times get hard. When we want to rush the process,
allow us to sit back, be still, and wait on You. Take complete control of our
lives. Remind us of Your presence when we can not feel you near. Sit us down
gently when we get in Your way. In Jesus' name, amen.
