A Shelter for Your Emotions….

Hey Sis,

What is your level of emotion today?

Are you feeling up or down?

Where are you housing your emotions?

The Bible says, ‘The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.’ Psalms 9:9

Whatever level your emotions may be, do you know where to shelter it?

If you feel on top of the world, are you giving God thanks for getting you there?

Are you crying out to God for help if you feel distressed or oppressed?

If you are unmotivated to do anything, are you asking God to give you a reason to simply live?

If you feel like your life has flipped or turned upside down, are you praying and asking God to turn it right side up?

God is telling us that He is a shelter for the oppressed. He houses those who are feeling down, distressed, anxious, lonely, abused, and misused.

He is a safe place to run to when you are feeling troubled. When you feel like all hope is gone, God is the house you run to. He is that safe place that you rely on to make everything better.

‘He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.’ Psalms 91:4

Can you just imagine being wrapped up in the wings of Jesus? Nestled sweetly against His chest.

Run to Him in times of trouble!

Praise Him in the good times and praise Him when things seem to be disarrayed.

Pray to God in your time of uncertainty, hesitation, or discontent. Fall into His arms of comfort, peace, joy, grace, and love. Remember that the promises of God are yes and amen, and His word never goes out void; it always accomplishes what it has set to achieve. (2 Corinthians 1:20, Isaiah 55:11)

Word for Thought: God always has His loving arms open and waiting for us to come to Him.

Challenge: If you feel your back is up against a wall, push off and walk forward to Jesus, who is waiting to take your hand and guide you on your life journey.

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7 NLT

Father God, thank you for being a shelter to us all. Thank You for always being a forever present help in a time of trouble. We know that whatever you say is yes and amen. Thank You for allowing us to cast all our cares and concerns on You because You love us so much. Thank You for Your grace and mercy that forgives us of all our iniquities and heals all our afflictions. You, oh Lord, redeem us from ourselves. For that, we are grateful. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
